Bicycle

When the painter Andre’ Durain was on his deathbed, Giacometti, the sculptor, came to his side and asked if there was anything he could get his good friend. Andre’ looked up and said, “a bicycle and a piece of blue sky.”

Bicycle is 10 ft. wide x 6.5 ft. tall and 3 ft. deep.

All the black is steel and the fender shape is covered in sheet lead. Two piano legs are under the blue sphere. Both the sphere and ring are wood painted. I love this piece.
